Lemons into Lemonade

I came across an article a while back about a Hypnotist that helps Wall Street executives deal with the recession and their mounting financial worries. Dr. Jacob Bimblich caters to the “financially fretful” and teaches them coping skills, self-empowerment techniques, even sometimes talking them down by phone when they find themselves in a sudden panic about their economic future. What happens during a recession is that people begin to equate their finances with their self-worth. Dr. Bimblich takes them out of that recession definition and helps them build up their inner confidence and identity outside of money or material success. Now if that’s not effective niche marketing I don’t know what is. When your focus is not so much on what you do, but how you can help – it becomes a lot easier to identify a unique problem you can solve for your target market. So instead of joining the chorus of “Business is so slow…I can’t get any clients right now”, get creative and think about what you could do to help your market to weather these rough economic times. What true value can you offer to make their lives better? Special discounts? Added services? You are uniquely qualified to help someone out there get through this recession. Invest some time into figuring out what you can do and I promise you, everybody wins.
